Absentee Voting Continues Through Tuesday

Congress, JP Race, Amendments, Millages on Ballot

CHALMETTE- There are two days left in absentee voting for the Tuesday, November 7th federal election.

Individuals wishing to cast an early vote may do so at the Register of Voters trailer, which is located to the rear of the St. Bernard Parish Government Building in Chalmette, on Monday and Tuesday between 8:30 AM and 4:30 PM. Early voting began on Thursday.

Elections to be decided in the November general election include the Third District US Representative race, eight state constitutional amendments and ten parish millages.

There is a runoff for Justice of the Peace in Ward A.

Though the runoff for Secretary of State appears on the absentee ballot, voters in that race will not be counted as the election was decided after the early ballots were printed when candidate Francis Heitmeier withdrew making his opponent Jay Dardenne the winner in that race.

Summaries of the millages and constitional amendments will be posted on this site before the election.
